A Very Electro Wednesday

Electro

First we have a track from  some Swedes with a keytar so you know that’s gonna turn out great.

All This Love – The Similou

And then an excellent remix from Boys Noize, which I’m pretty sure is why it’s an excellent remix. It only pumps up the excitement I have for Cut Copy’s new album more.

Lights And Music (Boys Noize Happy Birthday Remix) – Cut Copy

And here is a track by Siriusmo who you may or may not have heard of. He remixed Boys Noize, released songs on the Boys Noize label, and is from Germany. His connections to Boys Noize couldn’t get any closer unless he was related by blood. Which would make that an excellent family.  The track has a very Oizo vibe to it which is quite different than the other tracks of the EP/Mini album.

Femuscle – Siriusmo

Then there’s Dusty Diamonds who for only having two songs on their myspace, one being a remix, sound pretty damn good. If you’re a fan of SebastiAn or loud drum sounds or both this should be checked out with gusto.

Bangedup – Dusty Diamonds

And finally is a DatA remix. DatA.

I Say You Can’t Stop (DatA Remix) – Nelson

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Lightspeed Champion- Thrill (Michael Jackson Cover)

Just a quick post before bed. I stumbled upon this cover a few nights ago. I absolutely love Lightspeed and this is an awesome cover. The quality is kind of shitty since it was recorded live, but it’s still a great track.

The Best Songs Ever!!!

I’m terribly bored, so I figured I’ll give you a tour of what I’m listening to at the moment.

The first song that has been constantly playing for me is “Black Stacey” by Saul Williams, but that is already under Tuesday School Days so we shall start with “Mother Mary” by Foxboro Hot Tubs.

Let me start off by saying I used to be a huge Greenday fan in their pre-American Idiot days. Then American Idiot came out and they kind of fell off my radar. But then when I heard they were coming out with an album under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs, I had to check it out. I must say, it is very unlike Greenday and I respect that a lot. This song is really catchy and shows a vocal range of Billie Joe Armstrong that ceased to exist before this.

Foxboro Hot Tubs- Mother Mary

Song number two is “Something New” by P Money. I must admit, I cannot understand a word he is saying. But have no fear, that is a damn good thing. I have no idea how this guy does it. He has an amazing flow and can rap with tons of precision and speed; a rare quality.

P Money- Something New

Next we have “Ecstasy Of Gold” which is a mash-up of Nas and Ennio Morricone. This song isn’t really new, I just found it while searching through Culture Bully’s archives. Nas is an amazing lyricist and with this beat, this track gives me goosebumps. The strings just make it so god damn epic! Possibly my favorite mash-up ever.

DJ ERB- Ecstasy Of Gold (Ennio Morricone Vs. Nas)

The next track I really have no idea what it is formally called. So, we shall leave it as “Face To Face (Chico Love Remix)” by those oh so wonderful robots. As if “Face To Face” wasn’t good enough for you, this remix made it a little better. Well not better, just busier. So enjoy this track of fire!

Daft Punk- Face To Face (Chico Love Remix)

Next we have “Work To Do (Obama ’08)” by Kidz In The Hall. Kidz In The Hall is a rap duo consisting of one of my favorite up and coming Chi-town rappers, Naledge. Oh yeah, and some other dude who I believe is named Double O (sorry if incorrect). I am a big Obama fan and a big Naledge fan so what’s better?

Kidz In The Hall- Work To Do (Obama ’08)

Next to enter the ring of fantastic music is Kanye’s “Hey Mama” grammy performance. Technically it is titled “Hey Mama Grammy Remix (Studio Version).” I have a lot of respect for Kanye being able to hold himself together with such a heartfelt performance. What I don’t respect was his speech for rap album of the year. If you are arguing for them to turn the music off in respect of your mother, please take off your damn sunglasses. That and his comment about Common really set me off. But I still love Kanye and his passion and excellent music.

Kanye West- Hey Mama Grammy Remix (Studio Version)

Next we have “Positive Tension (A Million Billion Remix) by the oh so amazing Bloc Party. I have no idea how long this track has been out for, but I just got it AKA NEW SHIT MUHFUCKASSSSS. Anyways, the original of this song makes me happy. But this remix makes me really happy because I like manic music. I like lots of stuff going on at once, therefore this track is awesome.

Bloc Party- Positive Tension (A Million Billion Remix)

Last but not least, we have “100 Million” by Fully Fitted. Fully Fitted is possibly the hottest shit ever. I forgot who it consists of but I’m pretty sure there is a little bit of Spank Rock and a verse dropped by the boss himself, Rick Ross (as in 745 white on white thats fuckin Ross.) Anyways, although this is another hip-hop track with a Justice sample. This one is completely awesome. They re-work the beat and the raps are fire. Not saying Wale’s isn’t but some of the other Justice samples have sucked.I love you Wale.

Fully Fitted- 100 Million

Please enjoy all of these tracks.

Let’s Call this the Comeback

Okie Dokie peeps, I’m gonna tell you about some music I found, so just turn it up now, just turn it up now.

Firstly, we have impending the Impending Coachella Arrival (ICA) ((as of now, 65 days,14 hours, 55 mins, and 49 46 42 38 32 seconds to go)) and therefore must grace your ears with music from a band playing at Coachella

In honor of the ICA, we have fresh (not really) for you a track from these sexy dudes, Akron/Family. Great song, unfortunately the highlight of their album, so don’t expect better than this. Fortunately, this is an amazing track. Animal Collective, anyone?

Akron/Family

Akron/Family – Ed is a Portal

Next up is a little aside, a rarer track from my main man, the alliteratively initialed Dan Deacon, off of one of his earlier EP’s, Twacky Cats. Just listen to his voice, kids. An inspiration for aspiring electronic musicians everywhere, fiddling around on their computers. (You know who you (and me) are)

DDDDD

Dan Deacon – Ohio (demonstration Version)

Edit : Danny boy has put everything pre-Spiderman of the Rings on his site. GET ME SOME O’ DEM… FO FREE.

Dan Deacon Discography Deserves Download Don’t Deny Dat Dude

And finally, a weirdo. If you only download one of the tracks from this post make it the following. Picked up off my camp counselor’s myspace (He makes some funky electro beatz Everything here, credz go to Benzi Rodman. Honestly, I don’t know if this project is him, he and his girl/friend, (if he has one) one of his friends, or even even some band he just likes. But I like it a lot, and I think you will too. It’s the mystery that makes music fun.

EDIT: The singer on this track is Anahita Navab

You Say Benana – open spaces again

It just has that feel of homemade synths in the morning. Fresh. If you hit up some comments below, some more tracks by this kid may show up.

Tuesday School Days #3

healthy-school-logo-schools.jpg

Ok so you know the drill by now, or maybe you don’t. Anyways we post songs that have been stuck in our head all day, or in Willie’s case, of all his life.

Tristan: Black Lips – Cold Hands

My hands have been freezing off all day. This song is all I can think of. I need gloves.

Mr. Willie “The Captain Fiasco” Schube: Saul Williams- Black Stacey

This man rocks my literal striped, un-matching socks. I have been singing this song ever since my car ride this morning.

Macklin: Scarface- On My Block

I was looking through my music yesterday, and came across the album “The Fix” by Scarface. I realized I hadn’t listened to it since 5th grade, so I promptly pressed play and rediscovered my hip-hop love. If you haven’t heard this, check it out and if you have, listen to it again and again.

Guilty Music Monday #3

Today’s GMM is completely random. Let me first start off by saying that I am the biggest Lupe fan in the world. I chose “Superstar” as a song today because I hate when people come up to me and say I love “Superstar.” Yes, I am one of those assholes that disrespects you if you only like the popular song of my favorite musician. So I do feel guilty whenever I hear Mr. Santos sing the words “If you are what you say.” Next I chose “Just Us” by Cam’ron. This song consists of two components. Cam’ron and Journey. Yes, the 80′s pop band Journey. It is Cam’ron rapping over “Don’t Stop Believing.” As much as I hate that song, I love Cam’ron that much more. My last choice is “Born To Run” by the legend Bruce F’ing Springsteen. This man is amazing. People find this song cheesy, but it makes me so incredibly happy whenever it’s blasting from my speakers. So, that concludes another Guilty Music Monday… Enjoy!

Lupe Fiasco Featuring Matthew Santos- Superstar

Cam’ron- Just Us

Bruce Springsteen- Born To Run

Say Yeah

WizWiz Khalifa just put out the video for his song “Say Yeah” and I gotta say, it’s perfect. He’s got the dorkiness of Lupe going for him, and the subtitling of uh…Wiz Khalifa. It’s an excellent video for an excellent song so check it out.

And the song here:
